Sleeping Beauty rerelease date is TUESDAY...

Susannah is beside herself. We have the storybook, which she definitely has at the top of her "top ten books of all time" list, but she has never seen the movie. I held off as I knew it was being rereleased this fall. After months of seeing previews, and seeing a couple of clips on the internet, let the Sleeping Beauty era begin... (and not just because I am sick of Peter Pan being played over and over and over...) If anybody sees the movie advertised for less than $17.95, please let me know ASAP, because we will be picking it up on Tuesday..

She even has "the blue dress" from the movie, she was very specific about it needing to be the blue dress. As Disney princess buffs may recall, the fairies have a dispute over whether her dress should be pink or blue. They keep changing the color with their wands in a heated fairy argument. Disney has an "official color" for each of the princesses, and since Cinderella's official color is blue, (which is a little strange, since her dress is actually white, but she's seen in the moonlight so often that it looks blue) Sleeping Beauty - real name: Aurora, alias: Briar Rose - got pink by default. Therefore all the official merchandising, ie Sleeping Beauty costume, is pink. But in the story book, especially during the crucial "true love's kiss" scene, her dress is blue, and Susannah will accept no substitutes. This is actually a documented problem among mothers in my situation...
